Looking Back on the Stats

It’s now time to look back on the blogging experience and reflect on all that came out of it! First of all, if there’s one thing I would like to include on my site, it would be the addition of more modern music. Throughout this process, I primarily listened to music that was decades old, and although I don’t particularly mind listening to older music, I know that it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. Therefore, I think the inclusion of newer albums would definitely help expand my audience.

In regards to promoting, I think promoting my site on a platform that’s more geared towards music-lovers would help increase the overall traffic. I also think that promoting on more than just one platform would’ve helped me gain more visits as well. Regardless of the amount of views I got, this overall experience was very enjoyable for me. Not only did I get to listen a bunch of new music, but this is also something I hope to pursue in the future. Music journalism is currently what I’m trying to pursue as a career, so this blog, as well as my writing for KTSW, is something that has helped improved my writing tremendously. I also love talking about music, so getting to talk about it as an assignment is something I could’ve only dreamed of.

Now it’s time to look at some fun stats! Surprisingly, my most popular week has actually been this week (4/29-5/05). So far this week, I have gotten 19 views and three visitors. However, the most surprising thing I’ve found through the site data is that my most popular viewing hour is at 2:00pm. Although this has been my most popular week, my most popular week was posted weeks ago. My review of Aja by Steely Dan was by far my most popular post, bringing in 19 views. I think this was my most popular because it was the first official review I posted.

Although I have no social media stats to share, I do want to thank everyone who has came along with me on this adventure. This might be the end of my blog, but it’s definitely not the end of my music-writing career. If you would like to continue to read my work, you can find it here at the KTSW blog site. Again, thank you for sharing this experience with me, and I hope everyone continues to explore different types of music.
